Bill’s expertise is extended by his close working relationships with hundreds of travel companies, both large and small, including some of the most prestigious names in the travel industry.
Three decades of experience
In 1984, Bill was selected as Account Manager for the first-ever Tour Operator Protection Program. This program pioneered white-label travel insurance in the United States, working with customized protection plans designed exclusively for the tour operator community.
As the product continued to develop, passenger protection soon realized significant growth in this segment of the industry, creating a new profit center for travel companies. Cruise lines, OTA’s, and the airlines continue to model their protection plans based on this original concept. McGovern, after years of working with the industry leader in travel insurance, was determined to work as an independent resource for all travel suppliers. He was passionate in his desire to offer guidance and assistance to any supplier in need of direction that could extend beyond what one single underwriter could offer. Launching his career to work independently, gave him the flexibility needed to craft unique custom fit solutions. This business model provides efficient, personalized service that meets and often exceeds the goals of his clients.
